To support you through the acquisition process, SwetsWise Subscriptions provides you with sophisticated and yet very simple and easy-to-use ordering capabilities. The ordering functionality is geared for novice users, while also giving all the necessary options for experienced users. This powerful combination keeps the system intuitive and user-friendly while catering for all the sophistication required by a large number of our users.

Powerful and intuitive searching capabilities
The start of the process is simple; users can choose to search our catalog of over 260,000 publications for a title, either via the publication name or the ISSN. The search engine supports the most common Boolean operators such as wildcards, truncation, and, or, etc. For more advanced options, simply select the advanced search screen, which will allow you to limit your search by, for example, publisher, internet pricing model (free with the print edition, at an extra surcharge to the print edition or e-only publications.)

Clear and relevant search results
The search results list in SwetsWise is always ranked based on the relevance of the result. The relevance is decided by how many times your search criteria appears in the publication information, as well as how closely it matches your criteria. In this sense, if you were to perform a search for the keyword 'transportation', the first result in the list will be the publication Transportation. Following that will be other publications that contain the word transportation and then further results will be listed afterwards.

All publication options visible
One of the most difficult steps that you can encounter in the ordering process is knowing what options are available to you. SwetsWise Subscriptions Library Edition takes this into account and displays on screen the different options a publication has (e.g. print version, internet version, hand-delivery, etc.) that are applicable to you. In this screen you can immediately choose the publication version you wish to purchase. All options provide you with the latest pricing information, as well as information on any journals packages said publication may be available in. You can add your choice to your shopping cart directly from here or choose to view additional details about the specific publication.

Know what to do ahead of time
When looking at the details of a publication you will find all the necessary bibliographic details along with the ordering conditions of the publisher. These can include, for example, if the publication can only be purchased as a complete year subscription (from 1st of January to 31st of December) or if the internet version is free with the print version subscription.

If the publication has internet access possibilities then you will also be able to check what you will have to do in order to obtain access to the publication online.

SwetsWise will let you know if you have to sign a license agreement with the publisher or if an online registration form has to be filled in. This information is specific to your circumstances as many times a publisher requires that only one license agreement be signed and any additional subscription is automatically covered by the signed license agreement. Lastly, the complete process that will have to be followed once the order is placed is described so you know up front how much effort you will have to undertake in order to obtain access to the content you are purchasing.

Shopping cart and checkout
As with all e-commerce sites, all subscriptions you wish to order will be placed in your shopping cart. SwetsWise will automatically select the first possible start date for the subscription and immediately assign them to your default shipping and billing addresses. If you would like a subscription to be sent to a different address, you can easily change it in the shopping cart. If no change from your default settings is required, then all you need to do to order the publication is add in any reference information you would like to have attached to that specific subscription. After that it is simply a question of clicking on the order button, review your order one last time and confirm it.
